We're a family-run team based right on Fontanilla beach, and after years of welcoming guests to the Skol, we've put together the guide we wish every first-time visitor had.
Old Town for the atmosphere, the beach for the mornings, the Golden Mile and Puerto Banús for the glamour, and the hills inland when you want a change of pace. Here's how we'd spend the time.
Historic Centre
Marbella Old Town
A ten-minute stroll from the Skol — whitewashed streets, orange trees, and terraces that stay lively into the evening.
Plaza de los Naranjos
The orange-tree square at the heart of Old Town — cobbled lanes, whitewashed façades, and terrace cafés all around it.
Boutique shopping lanes
Narrow streets lined with independent boutiques, leather workshops, and small galleries — easy to lose an afternoon in.
Tapas bars & terraces
Family-run tapas bars tucked into side streets — order a few plates, share, and let the evening slow down.

When you want a change of scenery, these are the trips we send our guests on most often.
Ronda
A mountain town built around a dramatic gorge, roughly an hour’s drive inland — one of the classic Andalusian day trips.
Mijas Pueblo
A whitewashed hillside village with sweeping coastal views, known for its donkey taxis and quiet plazas.
Gibraltar
Cross the border to see the Rock, the resident macaques, and the runway that cuts straight across the main road.
Nerja & the Costa del Sol caves
Further east along the coast — dramatic caves, a clifftop balcony viewpoint, and quieter beaches.

Getting Around
On foot & by taxi
Central Marbella and Old Town are best explored on foot. Taxi ranks are easy to find, with a stand right outside the Skol.
Along the coast
The seafront promenade runs for miles — a flat, scenic walk or cycle between Marbella and Puerto Banús.
Further afield
A hire car is the easiest way to reach Ronda, Mijas, or Gibraltar for the day — all comfortably reachable and back by evening.
